Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, this individual provides secretarial and office management support to all Academy staff.
The City of Martinsville is seeking an individual for Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney. Must be member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.
Performs highly varied and complex engineering duties in connection with the planning, design, improvement, and inspection of engineering and construction projects in the City, with particular emphasis on transportation and infrastructure. Work also involves providing technical support in responding to citizen concerns pertaining to drainage, erosion, traffic, utility systems, or other departmental issues. Supervision may be exercised over other personnel of a lower classification. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Public Works.

Performs highly responsible, skilled, technical, and administrative work within the Community Development/Inspections Department. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing inspections of buildings and properties for compliance with federal and state codes and local ordinances. This position requires certification and demonstrated skills in construction, building codes, related laws, public education, media relations, administrative tasks, and strong customer service skills. This position requires knowledge of the methods of investigation utilized in code compliance inspections.

Performs responsible skilled electronic and electrical work in the installation, maintenance and
repair of various types of electronic transmitters, receivers, recorders, motors and electrical distribution
components. Work is performed under the supervision of the Water/Wastewater Plant Maintenance
Journey-level Electric Line Worker certification from a regionally or nationally accredited program preferred, but not required.
The City of Martinsville, Fire & EMS Department, is accepting applications for full-time emergency medical technicians (EMT) to staff an ambulance for its newly created Patient Transport Division. The Patient Transport Division will provide non-emergent ambulance transport for non-ambulatory patients discharged from Sovah Health ??" Martinsville to locations within Martinsville and Henry County.
Applicants must meet the following requirements: (1) possess a high school diploma or equivalent; (2) be at least 18 years of age; (3) possess a valid Virginia driver's license; (4) have satisfactory employment and background investigation; and (5) possess a current Virginia EMT and EVOC certification. Preference is given to applicants with two years or more experience.
Full-time pay is $32,670 annually.
Pre-employment physical and drug test are required for selected applicants. In addition, interview information will be provided to selected applicants.

This is skilled work in the operation of wastewater treatment and related equipment in a wastewater plant on an assigned shift. The trainee learns the operation of the wastewater plant and how to conduct standard tests. Work is performed with increasing independence, based on work experience in the plant operation and on individual performance. The amount of independence allowed and the procedures used emphasize the ability to perform work under limited supervision and to meet operating emergencies following precedents and practices based upon experience and training. A superior is usually available to provide assistance when needed, and work is reviewed through operating reports, inspections, conferences, and observation of results obtained.
This is responsible managerial and technical work in the operation of the water plant and associated sludge disposal and pumping facilities. Work involves managing and directing the activities of the operating and laboratory personnel while optimizing plant performance, minimizing expenditures, maintaining records and preparing reports. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Water Resources. An employee in this capacity is expected to initiate and/or oversee special projects.
