Tokyo-born Executive Sushi Chef Fuyuhiko Ito is bringing a taste of his home in the far east to the shores of the Southeast, U.S. with menu offerings of sushi while Chef Tom creates dishes made with specialty seafoods, Prime beef & pork, and more.
Chef Tom Catherall was born in Newcastle City, United Kingdom where he, at age 15, participated in a four-year apprenticeship at the Royal Turks Head Hotel. After time spent living abroad and continuing to gain more culinary experience, he eventually migrated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned the title of Certified Master Chef while working at the Cherokee Country Club.
Throughout the course of many years, Chef Tom has led some of Atlanta’s most popular restaurants starting with his own Azalea then Tom Tom’s, Prime, Twist, and eight other restaurants including Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza in 13 different Atlanta locations. Chef Tom’s latest hits include Tom Tom’s Tapas & Tequila and Tom Tom’s Kitchen & Bar of Atlanta. He also leads at his restaurant that’s loved by South Walton locals, Lola Coastal Italian. Executive Sushi Chef Fuyuhiko Ito met and worked together with Chef Tom while in Atlanta.
Chef Ito was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, where he began his restaurant career at the age of 17 at Chateau Lion handling the Tsukiji Fish Market’s fresh daily catches. His culinary background is diverse in traditional Japanese, classic French, and even Italian & Mexican cuisines. It is with great passion and precision that Chef Ito’s cuisine has previously earned five-star ratings by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Chef Ito not only shines in kitchens across the globe, but he places equal importance on guest experiences. To the delight of diners, he also shines in creating unforgettable moments and is able to share his culture through his cuisine. Having led many sushi bars, he understands the importance of customer service.
