Alberta Environmental Rubber Products- Grinding Room Technician (Edmonton, AB)

We are currently seeking a mechanically inclined Grinding Room Technician to join our Maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

Perform blade sharpening for 3 different machine types by loading, aligning, and monitoring a jig.
Maintain strict quality standards.
Perform scheduled/assigned equipment cleaning, service, and maintenance.
Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments and Equipment Pre-Use documents.
Communicate effectively and professionally with the Maintenance staff to prioritize equipment needs and repair.
Immediately report any concerns or issues directly to Supervisor.
Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
Perform any general labor duties as required to meet operational objectives.

Core Competencies

Mechanically inclined and skilled in use of standard hand tools.
Experience using precise measurement tools e.g. verniers and depth gauges.
Quick to learn with the ability to follow instructions and seek clarity when unsure.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to maintain professionalism and work with limited supervision.
Ability to multi-task and meet objectives/deliverables.
High standards for work, meticulous, with great attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Confident, resourceful, and highly motivated.
Possess a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

Education/Experience:

Minimum one (1) year of experience operating machine tools; lathes, milling machine, CNC, surface grinders… etc, ideally in a Manufacturing/Production setting
