To support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking a mechanically inclined Maintenance Manager to join our Maintenance team. 

Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Reliability Leadership
  • Ensure effective planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Set daily and weekly maintenance priorities based on production needs and goals, and equipment condition.
  • Be present on the floor during breakdowns and critical repairs to support troubleshooting and decision making.
  • Establish maintenance standards, procedures, and best practices aligned with industry and corporate expectations.
  • Ensure preventative and predictive maintenance tasks are completed on time and are effective.
  • Review major failures, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, lifecycle management, and failure reduction.
  • Ensure maintenance resources, tools, spare parts, and materials are effectively managed and optimized.

People & Team Development
  • Provide hands-on daily support and direction to the Maintenance team.
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning for maintenance leadership and skilled trades.
  • Identify skill gaps and ensure technical and safety training is completed.
  • Address performance issues early and consistently with support from HR.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and collaboration across all departments. 

Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure safety is integrated into all maintenance activities and lead by example ensuring safety expectations are followed on every job.
  • Oversee safe work systems, including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, contractor safety, and hot work permitting.
  • Stop work when unsafe conditions or behaviours are observed.
  • Participate in investigations of incidents, near misses, and equipment failures, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure maintenance employees and contractors are properly trained and qualified for assigned work.

Planning & Asset Management
  • Review maintenance backlog regularly and prioritize work based on risk and impact.
  • Track daily and weekly maintenance performance, including schedule compliance and downtime.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and implement strategies to control spending while maintaining reliability standards.
  • Support capital planning, equipment upgrades, shutdowns, and major repair projects in collaboration with Operations.
  • Use data including downtime reports and failure history to identify trends and improve performance.

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Minimum 8–10 years of industrial maintenance experience, including 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Journeyperson Millwright certification or equivalent mechanical/electrical trade preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability practices.
  • Proven experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with computer applications used for reporting, analysis, and business communication.
  • Ability to support off‑shift needs, shutdowns, and emergency callouts as required.
