Open and honest communication is the key, and a workplace administered with consistency and fairness promotes enthusiasm, teamwork, and pride for all.The HR Generalist, under the direction of the HR Manager and Executive Vice President will provide full service to the management and employees of Associated Bag in the areas of employment, employee relations, salary administration, employment law, and benefits administration.  The HR Generalist  will manage the recruitment process for hourly and professional positions, leading the efforts in recruiting and screening qualified applicants, coordinating efforts with trusted staffing agencies and recruiters, will vet and establish new partnerships with external resources.  Conducts interviews, reference checks, consults with management and makes recommendations as well as conducting new employee orientations. 

In conjunction with management, the HR Generalist handles employee relations and ensures a positive work environment is maintained by remaining objective and unbiased.  Assists employees in understanding and adhering to Company policy and procedure, develops and implements those policies according to federal and state laws for this multi-state Company.  Investigates and conducts disciplinary meetings including termination meetings if necessary.  Assists in performance appraisal programs as well as salary administration. Completes wage and salary surveys and participates in job evaluation, writing and/or reviewing job descriptions. 

Administers Company benefit programs, educating employees of the benefits offered, assists with questions, prepares and processes claims for reimbursement, and instructs employees on access to providers through customer service and or apps.  Administers wellness and education benefits for reimbursements.  Administers FMLA, Workers Comp and COBRA.  Reconciles and pays benefits provider invoices. 

Completes various state and federal reporting requirements as well as reports requested by General Accounting for tax purposes.  

Keeps current on employment law and trends to ensure Company's compliance.  Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5 years generalist experience in Human Resources or equivalent combination of experience and education.  SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.  Experience with Human Resources Information Systems, familiarity with ADP Workforce Now preferred.  Employee Benefits
