This includes employment, employee relations, salary administration, employment law, and benefits administration and other pertinent matters pertaining to all areas under scope of position’s authority.

Oversees recruitment, placement, and training activities. Coordinates efforts with trusted staffing agencies and recruiters, vets and establishes new partnerships with external resources. Uses Applicant Tracking System to post ads and track all candidate activity and results. Screens resumes, conducts interviews, and makes recommendations for further interviewing. Conducts references and works with a third party on background checks. Consults with management on findings and makes recommendations on hiring. Conducts new employee orientation.

In conjunction with management, handles employee relations activities to include employee counseling, disciplinary meetings, EAP referrals, and any other activities requiring third-party intervention. Ensures that a positive work environment is maintained by remaining objective and unbiased in carrying out employee relations duties. Assists employees with questions on Company policy and procedure. Composes necessary documentation of meetings. Conducts termination meetings and/or exit interviews in conjunction with the employee's supervisor. Oversees development and implementation of policies and procedures. Consults legal counsel and/or other professional organizations to ensure that policies and practices comply with federal and state law. Interprets policies for management. Under the direction of the Executive Vice President, assists with administering salary administration and performance appraisal programs. Oversees participation in salary surveys. Participates in the job evaluation process. Consults with management staff on content of job descriptions and performance appraisals to ensure they are consistent with company standards.

Investigates employee questions regarding salary administration and performance appraisal programs. May calculate pay changes and bonus eligibility. Oversees administration and ensures compliance with EEO, FMLA or other leaves of absence, COBRA, and other HR programs, to ensure compliance with Company standards and applicable state and federal laws or regulations. Investigates claims or disputes, documents findings and makes recommendations when appropriate.

Administers benefit programs and services. Ensures health, safety (workers compensation), and wellness programs are administered in accordance with company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Includes responding to employee questions, assisting with renewal, organizing open enrollment, reviewing plan documents etc. In conjunction with Executive Vice President, works with brokers, carriers, etc. on insurance, safety, and other benefit-related areas.

Oversees maintenance of HRIS ensuring it meets the needs of the Company, the reasonable expectations of confidentiality of employees and the requirements of the law. Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of personnel records required by law or other governing bodies, or other departments in the company. Negotiates with outside vendors to provide services in the Human Resources area. Keeps abreast of new and/or changing developments and regulations in the Human Resources field to ensure company's compliance. Informs management of changes or new developments, as applicable.

 Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10 years diverse Human Resources experience, to include management and strategic planning experiences; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred. ADP Workforce Now experience a plus.
