PT Logistics Manager (Amherst, VA)

The Amherst County Department of Public Safety is accepting applications for a part-time Logistics Manager.  This responsible part-time position coordinates and schedules the routine maintenance and repairs of Fire & EMS vehicles, transporting the vehicles to the maintenance and repair locations; assists in obtaining measurements and assigning addresses for new and existing 911 addresses; assigns and disperses equipment, PPE and other supplies; and maintains inventories and orders supplies.  Responding to Fire & EMS calls as needed is a requirement.

The competitive applicant must have a valid Virginia Driver’s license, be certified as a Virginia Department of Fire Programs Firefighter 1 and EVOC III.  Certification as a Virginia Office of EMS Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is preferred.  A high school diploma or equivalent with two years of experience in a combination Fire and EMS system is required. The ability to lift and move heavy boxes and equipment is required.
