POSITION SUMMARY

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor is responsible for providing therapy and the assessment and treatment of outpatient patients at Caya Integrative Health. This includes seeing scheduled patients both in person and via telehealth for a variety of behavioral health issues requiring diagnosis, treatment planning, and multiple therapeutic approaches to support patient needs in an individualized manner.
This role also includes assisting in the preparation and accurate submission of documentation and billing to payer sources in both a compliant and timely manner. The Licensed Therapist is responsible for maintaining scheduled appointments and appropriate productivity levels.

Pay Range:$65 -$70.00 a session

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES
  • Responsibilities include the assessment and treatment of patients in varying assisted living facilities and independent living facilities.
  • Ability to respond to consultation orders from facilities.
  • Collaborate with facility team members (Medical Director, Home Health Nurse, Wellness Director) to evaluate needs and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused Therapy, ACT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, SFT, and Behavioral Activation.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system as well as required facility documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to utilize CBT techniques and motivational interviewing.
  • Organize daily schedule effectively in coordination with facility activities and patient schedules.
  • Assist Practice Manager with therapy policy and procedure development, operations, hiring, and programming.
  • Provide supervision of interns when applicable.
  • Assist in establishing therapy services in nearby long-term care (LTC) facilities.
  • Maintain active Florida license under FS 491 and comply with all licensing board requirements, including CEUs.
  • Adhere to the standards of Caya Integrative Health, as well as all Federal, State, and Joint Commission (JCAHO) regulations.

  • Ensure timely completion of all accurate clinical documentation.
  • Participate in quality initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in practice meetings as required.
  • Provide ethical, trauma-informed care to all patients and consult with the Director of Behavioral Health for clinical supervision.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Comply with all applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to:
    • Compliance processes
    • Standards of Conduct
    • HIPAA
    • State Licensure
    • Joint Commission standards
    • Ethical standards of an independent therapy provider
  • Participate in required orientation, ethics, and HIPAA training programs.
  • Report concerns or suspected incidences of non-compliance in accordance with Standards of Conduct.
  • Cooperate with monitoring, audit functions, and investigations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives as requested.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
  • Active Florida License in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, or Psychology (under FS 491) — proof required.
  • 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience with telehealth / telecommuting.
  • Experience with medical software systems.
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of healthcare payers (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial insurance).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, including social media standards.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct consistent with professional standards.
  • Must complete pediatric and addictions counseling certification within twelve (12) months.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds (e.g., files, laptop, or office materials).
  • Ability to travel locally between facilities and/or patient locations as required.
  • Ability to maintain focus, attention to detail, and emotional regulation when working in a fast-paced, high-demand healthcare environment.
