Title: Senior Software Developer/Architect – Telecom & Cloud-Native Systems
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer/Architect with expertise in Telecom, cloud-native architectures, and modern software development methodologies to join our team. This role is part of a team responsible for the platform, infrastructure, and networking of Comcast’s Next-Generation Access Network, managing server racks, networking gear, and the full software stack that powers them.
Role OverviewAs a Senior Software Developer/Architect, you will lead the development of cloud-native microservices and core features of the virtual CMTS (vCMTS) platform. Beyond software development, this role requires tackling operational technical challenges within our Core Virtualization project, ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency in a complex, high-performance telecom environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop well-tested, production-ready code.
- Define architecture and requirements for vCMTS applications and cloud-native services.
- Design, implement, and oversee scalable microservices for virtualized network infrastructure.
- Collaborate in Agile & DevOps environments to streamline development and deployment.
- Contribute to design and architecture discussions, ensuring best practices and innovation.
- Create robust deployment and monitoring systems to enhance performance and reliability.
- Support production environments, troubleshooting issues and optimizing system performance.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing requirements.
- 6+ years of experience as a software engineer working with:
- C++, Go, C, Python, Ansible, and Bash
- Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms
- Networking experience (protocols, routing, switching)
- Linux software development experience
- Background in the Cable/Telecommunications industry
- Experience with Harmonic cOS platform
- Domain expertise in DOCSIS
- Experience as a Software Lead (coding, monitoring, managing)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and DevOps
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- A seasoned developer/architect with a passion for networking, cloud-native development, and telecom solutions
- Proactive and adaptable, able to take ownership of projects and drive results
- Highly collaborative and team-oriented, with a commitment to positive engagement
- Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical challenges and solutions to diverse audiences
