Responsibilities

  • Creating business requirements, functional specifications and system design documents
  • Eliciting requirements from interviews, analysis, and workshops
  • Accurately translating business requirements into system functional requirements
  • Providing strategic technical insight with respect to CPQ
  • Serving as technical advisor for CPQ features and functions
  • Leading CPQ roadmap design
  • Participate in change management activities
  • Help communicate process and system changes with cross-functional team
  • Understanding key Salesforce architectural concepts and how they influence design
  • Designing products, pricing, and product rules to arrive at desired configuration while optimizing scalability and end-user experience.
  • Assist with reporting related to CPQ data
  • Design approval processes, using Advanced Approvals
  • Assist in developing training and documentation for users and stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations for process changes to the CPQ Product Owner.
  • Act as liaison between users and application development team
  • Additional Salesforce architecture and design as needed

Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in the following:
    • CPQ data architecture and how different elements of the CPQ setup impact each other.
    • Configuring products, bundles, pricing in CPQ, and set-up of complex product catalogs and advanced pricing.
    • Product selection and how to make the process of configuring quotes easy for the user.
    • Customization of complex CPQ quote templates.
    • Orders, Contracts, Amendments, and Renewals function in CPQ and be able to tailor the out-of-the-box functionality to meet specific business requirements.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, a quantitative or business-related field, or equivalent functional experience within a scaling organization 
  • 8+ years of experience in Quote to Cash solution design
  • Admin/Advanced Admin/Sales Cloud Certified
  • Certified CPQ Specialist with 5+ years of experience, ideally in the SaaS industry
  • Problem-solving: The CPQ Architect may be tasked with identifying challenges within the organization around our Product SKUs and quoting processes, and then implementing certain procedures and processes to overcome them. Strongly developed problem-solving skills are crucial in this role.
  • Communication & Training: The CPQ Architect will be responsible for advising on training around new processes associated with CPQ.
  • Technical: Upgrading, troubleshooting, and implementing new processes.
