SQL Developer(Remote) ()

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Design stable, reliable, and effective databases
• Optimize and maintain legacy systems
• Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
• Solve database usage issues and malfunctions
• Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
• Gather user requirements and identify new features
• Develop technical and training manuals
• Provide data management support to users
• Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
• Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a data position (DBA, Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Developer)
• In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring)
• Experience with software development – creating normalized transactional databases for web applications
• Hands on experience with T-SQL (SQL Server), ANSI SQL and Microsoft Azure
• Familiarity working with PowerShell and JavaScript
• Excellent analytical and organization skills
• An ability to understand front-end user requirements and a problem-solving attitude
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. SSRS, PowerBI, R)
• Proven ability to design and implement Extract, Transformation and Loading processes (using SSIS)
• Demonstrated success working in large technology initiatives with enterprise level impact
• Functions well in a team environment.
• High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and creativity with proven ability to coordinate with peers
• Excellent verbal and written skills; technically astute, and up to date on latest technologies
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance strategies

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field (Preferred)
• 2+ years’ experience with Agile Framework (Preferred)
