• This position is responsible for safety of the Sanitation Team and to assist in controlling expenses;
  • provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements;
  • interpret and enforce company policies;
  • maintain non- union program;
  • assist in the determination of manpower needs and makes recommendations;
  • prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately;
  • solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up;
  • work with department heads to meet production goals and metrics goals while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product;
  • inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping,
  • safety sanitation security and food safety;
  • manage evaluate and train supervisors in all facets including but not limited to;
  • paperwork, time and attendance, discipline, motivation, turnover, absenteeism, safety, problem solving, etc.
  • Accountable for areas of performance; safety, turnover, bid movement, Team Member morale and other duties as needed. 
  •  Oversee all designated shift operations and any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the plant manager.  
  • Education: High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 plus years of related industry;
  • 5 plus years supervisory experience in a meat processing facility pork or beef preferred;
  •  knowledge of OSHA USDA and HAACP regulations. 
  • Sanitation and chemical experience preferred. Knowledge of both Processing and Harvest operation is a plus. Understanding of basic HACCP principals and the ability to perform CCP monitoring verification a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management as well as government officials.
  • Special Skills: Leader problem solver team player.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:  
  • Responsible for all Sanitation Operations at the facility;
  • includes managing all sanitation supervisor’s department production schedules product rotation, CCP verification schedules and overseeing safety committee includes responsibility to review team members in these roles and develop improve deficient areas. 
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws; interview hire and train team members;
  • plan assign and direct work;
  • monitor and appraise work performance;
  • reward coach counsel and discipline team members;
  • address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Other Requirements: Lead people by example accept and delegate responsibility display sound judgment and decision-making skills; problem solve in an efficient manner with sound follow up; strong managerial skills necessary; excellent safety and attendance records. Ability to work with department heads to meet safety production and meet goals. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety. This position is responsible for food safety food quality and legality.
