Job Summary:

Involves technical acumen for planning, designing, developing, implementing and administering data-based systems that acquire, prepare, store and provide access to data and metadata. Maintains and optimizes systems and migrates data and systems as needed. Ensures integrity and completeness of data and workflow, manages and / or develops data practices, databases and information systems as well as guidelines, dictionaries, registries and / or services. May include interpretation of scientific research data artifacts as well as mediation across science and technology domains and long-term data care. As information architect and data steward, designs systems, data products and / or data production processes while focusing on data curation, data exchange, data security, data integrity and information environments. (Re)evaluates frameworks, strategies, standards and standards-making activities. May involve work with a project-level data repository, a center or an archive.

Scope 

The Scheduler Systems Analyst maintains the Patient Acuity/Scheduling systems for our client, providing primary system support for the current nursing scheduling system, Clairvia. The analyst interacts with multiple disciplines and departments within the Health system and works closely with third party system vendors to maintain service delivery. Maintains and monitors required system interfaces including payroll, HR/HCM, and license verification system integrations, and coordinates with other technical teams on infrastructure and platform support activities. The systems analyst is also responsible for generating scheduled and ad hoc system reports for operational teams and stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 2-4 years of experience providing functional or technical support for a scheduling system
  • Advanced, demonstrated experience with SQL, creating and executing complex queries, and preparing data models unassisted
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel for report and data presentation
  • Familiarity with data model patterns in one or more common business or academic domains.
  • Familiarity with logical data design and data mapping or data conversion.
  • Thorough knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards.

Education, Licenses and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduler System Maintenance and Support

  • Monitors and maintains system interfaces between scheduling, timekeeping, HR/HCM and other related applications
  • In conjunction with other systems analysts and IT staff, assists with maintenance of server environment for current nurse scheduling system
  • Maintains current scheduling/staffing system including updating schedules, processing position reports, entering new hire/termination data, and performing audits.
  • Acts as a technical liaison with vendors related to site-specific program enhancements and implementation of new modules.
  • Problem-solves and provides system documentation. 
  • Performs data audits and regular reviews to ensure data accuracy. Uses various tools to provide reports and data analytics to departments including but not limited to Labor and Employee Relations, Nursing Performance Improvement, HR, and outside vendors.

Applies professional and broadly defined business analysis and data / information administration and data use concepts to manage and perform complex assignments.

Training, Communication, User Support

  • In conjunction with other systems analysts, provides user support for the scheduler application. Monitors ServiceNow ticket assignment groups, assigns to teammates, acknowledges requests, and resolves requests per the established Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Develops and modifies communication tools and recommends changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.  
  • Maintains documentation and logs and trains staff members and supervisors in problem solving.  In collaboration with IT, tests new software and hardware. Coordinates installations, enhancements/updates, and interface testing.

Independently analyzes complex information requirements and documents them, using formal data definition techniques and naming standards. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes information from subject matter experts and technical personnel. Researches relevant problem-domain literature and information standards and develops recommendations for data management resource plans including approaches, trends, sources and uses.
