The successful candidate will be professional, will have demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted corporate accounting principles and some Government industry related experience. Will work closely with the CFO/Human Resources/Contracts to provide support to our employees.

Location: Columbia, MD; Hybrid
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries/management, invoicing, and ACH bank management
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports (e.g., monthly reconciliation of balance sheets for multiple accounts, income/cash flow statements)
- Prepare general journal entries for CFO review
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards
- Support CFO with preparation and monitoring of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements/budgets for both government and commercial projects, as well as annual financial audit activities (financial analysis/reports)
- Research/diagnose nuances during financial reviews
- Maintain/update accounting and timecard system (JAMIS) standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Prepare/email all account receivable billings to customers
- Process all A/R customer receipts
- Process all A/P vendor invoices & payments (via ACH/Check/Online)
- Track all customer receipts via credit cards to create monthly A/R invoice/revenue
- Initiate processes required to calculate indirect rates
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather approvals and necessary billing details
- Manage setup of new contracts, ensuring all financial terms and conditions are properly documented and incorporated into all systems
- Create and manage charge codes for both direct and indirect jobs, aligned with project and contract requirements
- Research and diagnose anomalies detected during monthly financial review
- Support annual financial audit activities and other audits as necessary
- Provides backup support for payroll functions as needed
Required skills and experience:
- Three to five years of experience as a Corporate Accountant with some government industry knowledge preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or currently pursuing)
- Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Excel, timekeeping systems, JAMIS preferred
- Experience with all aspects of accounting operations (e.g., payroll processing, invoicing, accounts payable processing, financial reporting)
- Efficient verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; must work accurately in a fast-paced environment
