Sr. Cybersecurity, CMMC Consultant (Remote)
Edwards Performance Solutions is seeking a CMMC Certified Assessor to join our team in a remote W2 position.
At Edwards, our consultants help clients understand and address enterprise risk while advising on security management, compliance, and business performance. As a CMMC Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO), we support organizations of all sizes in achieving and maintaining CMMC certification and strengthening secure business processes.

Position Summary:
Edwards Performance Solutions is hiring a CMMC Certified Assessor to perform and lead CMMC assessments for both small and large clients. This role is responsible for coordinating assessment activities, leading delivery, managing CMMC-related workstreams, and helping clients promote secure systems through the consistent application of cybersecurity guidance. The ideal candidate combines deep technical and compliance knowledge with strong consultative skills, communication ability, and the credibility to engage effectively with senior stakeholders. This role may include occasional travel for conferences, workshops, and outreach initiatives.
The successful candidate must possess:
- Excellent interpersonal, consultative skills
- Knowledge of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) frameworks
- Exceptional track record in evaluating and identifying organizational information/cybersecurity needs
- CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) certification with completed T3 background investigation
Responsibilities:
- Provides expert consulting relative to cybersecurity strategy, metrics, and compliance
- Leads the process/phases of pre-assessment, conformity assessment, and reporting
- Conducts independent, comprehensive assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements within or inherited by IT systems
- Determines the overall effectiveness of implemented cybersecurity controls
- Interfaces and communicates with internal/external stakeholders regularly to identify changing business requirements
- Provides subject matter expertise on matters including governance and oversight, standards and processes, tools/technology
- Ensures existing and new (IT) systems meet cybersecurity and risk requirements
- Validates the requirements and deliverables ensuring end product(s) and/or service(s) are as promised
- Designs sustainable risk management and compliance processes and structures, reports and presents to senior level stakeholders
- May support the development of CMMC cybersecurity assessment related instruction
Requirements:
- CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) certification with completed T3 background investigation
- Expertise in cybersecurity technology, NIST/CMMC frameworks
- Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience in cybersecurity, training and course development
- Bachelor's degree in computer technology or related field
- Preferred related certifications, (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA)
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proven ability to evaluate and identify organizational information security and cybersecurity needs
