The County of Henry is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Director of Public Safety. This leadership role oversees all emergency services operations, including Fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Emergency Management. The Director will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community by leading with vision, fostering interagency collaboration, and maintaining excellence across all facets of public safety.
We are looking for a forward-thinking leader who can build on our strong foundation and guide the department through continued growth, innovation, and modernization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep commitment to service, accountability, and community trust.
Minimum qualifications include experience in Public Administration, Fire Science, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, or related field; proven ability to lead organizational change, foster innovation, and build effective teams; and at least five years in a senior leadership role. The minimum starting salary is $100,401, with final compensation commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
