 We’re Hiring: Permit Clerk

Location: Henry County Planning, Zoning, & Inspection
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Salary Minimum: $37,224 annually ($17.90/hour)

Henry County is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Department of Planning, Zoning & Inspection as a Permit Clerk.


This position plays a vital role in supporting our Building Inspections team and involves a variety of clerical and technical duties, including:
  • Preparing and processing construction permits
  • Scheduling inspections
  • Providing front-line customer assistance
  • Supporting daily departmental operations

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Windows
  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be willing to obtain Permit Technician Certification within 18 months of hire.
