The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a reliable Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee building and grounds maintenance at the Adult Detention Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as lead maintenance technician for the Adult Detention Center, coordinating and guiding maintenance and custodial work in a secure correctional environment.
- Perform skilled maintenance and repairs on detention facility systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, security hardware (doors/locks), and structural components.
- Handle general building upkeep, including minor repairs, painting, and basic carpentry, with attention to safety and security requirements.
- Support grounds care for detention center property, including mowing, snow and ice removal, and general exterior maintenance to ensure safe access.
- Coordinate with facility staff, other maintenance personnel, and outside contractors to complete maintenance projects safely, efficiently, and in compliance with security protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certifications in one or more relevant building trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Building)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience
