Volunteer Coordinator


What You Must Have:
  • College degree required; Graduate of an accredited college/university is preferred
  • Experience in recruitment & management of volunteers, preferred
  • Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the IDG and the lay and professional public
  • Working knowledge of volunteer program resources
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience with EMR software

What You Will Do:
  • Recruitment of new volunteers
  • Training new volunteers on hospice philosophy, regulations, and job duties
  • Provides volunteers per the Hospice patient's Plan of Care
  • Collaboratively develops and maintains policies specific to the volunteer program
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and ensures compliance with, all local, state and federal laws relating to the recruitment, training & retention of volunteers
  • Develops the volunteer program through collaboration with the IDG and administration personnel
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by the IDG
  • Organize recruitment activities and volunteer activity match to retain current volunteers
  • Promotes Agency philosophy to ensure quality of care
  • Establishes a public relations program to foster good working relations with the volunteers & the community
  • Utilize excellent customer care skills with internal and external customers, including using proper phone etiquette
  • Oversee submission of timely documentation of interventions per the POC or according to assignment
  • Promote positive, respectful communication to all staff, volunteers, referral sources, patients, families and community
  • Participate in all mandatory staff in-services and meetings
  • Ensure overall compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures
