Position Overview
We are seeking highly motivated Project Engineer Interns who aspire to join our team on a fast-track path to a full-time position within the company. This position will be based at our Headquarters in Springfield, OR and will collaborate with both field and administrative divisions to play a pivotal role in the rock drilling and blasting blast design process from start to finish. Additionally, this position will contribute to reviewing project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract documents. Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in construction engineering, mining engineering or civil engineering.
  • Technical Proficiency: Tech-savvy, eager to learn, adopt/implement and develop new technology.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Natural ability to maintain positive, cooperative working relationships by working, acting, and communicating with various personalities and people of different backgrounds.  
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Organizational Skills: Organized work approach with the ability to adapt and adjust as required to support the needs of multiple projects.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
  • Passion: Eagerness to learn and a genuine passion for construction engineering management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Utilizes drones, mapping programs, artificial intelligence (AI), and onsite drone and rover survey technology to assist in the blast design process.
  • Collaborates with machine operators and the blast team(s) to ensure the accurate execution of project designs in the field.
  • Assists in the prediction of vibrations for blast design.
  • Contributes to the preparation of blast and safety plans for government projects.
  • Participates in reviewing project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with contract documents.
  • Assists with any and all responsibilities to support the Rock Drilling and Blasting Operations.
