Position Overview:
The Field Data Collector supports drilling, blasting, and quarry operations by collecting accurate field data through drone flights, bore tracking, and drill pattern layout. This role travels to prospective, active, and recently completed jobsites to capture and deliver reliable spatial data used by engineering and operations teams for planning, verification, and production support. The Field Data Collector works independently in the field while maintaining close coordination with drilling, blasting, engineering, and operations personnel to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient project execution.

Work Location
- Dispatched from Springfield, OR with field-based work and overnight travel.
Compensation
- Wage Range: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
- Full benefits package available for full-time employees.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience: Background in construction, field operations, mining, surveying support, utilities, environmental field work, or similar outdoor/industrial environments preferred.
- Certification: FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical aptitude with confidence using technology daily in a field environment; ability to learn and adapt to new systems is essential.
- Field Work: Ability to work outdoors in active industrial environments and travel to multiple jobsites.
- Driver License: Valid driver’s license with no more than three moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last three years and no DUIIs.
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel regularly to multiple jobsites, including occasional overnight travel.
- Background Check: ATF background check required in compliance with federal regulations.
- Drug Test and Physical: Pre-employment drug test and physical required; random and post-accident testing conducted in accordance with company policy.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Drone Operations: Conducts drone flights at prospective, active, and completed jobsites to collect aerial imagery, video, and mapping data, utilizes rover to collect ground survey points.
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Compliance: Plans and executes UAV missions in compliance with FAA Part 107, MSHA/OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Field Data Collection: Collects accurate field data using GPS equipment, rovers, and approved data collection methods.
- Data Management: Uploads, processes, and organizes survey and drone data for engineering and operations use.
- Bore Tracking: Performs bore tracking to verify drilled hole depth, alignment, and deviation.
- Drill Pattern Layout: Lays out drill hole locations using approved plans and surveying tools to support blast design and execution.
- Field Coordination: Communicates layout information, observations, and findings clearly to drilling and blasting crews.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintains survey, drone, and field equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties to contribute to the company’s overall success.

Physical Demands
- Extended Work Hours: Frequently working 12–14-hour workdays.
- Mobility: Walking and climbing on uneven ground and surfaces.
- Physical endurance: Ability to work for extended periods in physical conditions.
- Lifting and carrying: Carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Outdoor exposure: This position is performed outdoors and is exposed to weather elements such as snow, rain, and extreme cold/high temperatures.
