Summary
Industrial Automation Inc., with over 40 years of experience manufacturing top-quality aircraft maintenance tooling and equipment is looking for a mechanical assembler. If you are mechanically inclined and enjoy challenging, non-repetitive work, this is the job for you. We are essentially a custom build shop, typically making 1 or 2 units at a time.
Compensation
Pay Range: $28.00-$37.00/hour depending on experience.
Hours: Monday-Friday 5:30AM-2:00PM

Work to assemble military/defense maintenance tools and tooling to support Boeing Aircraft per specified drawings. Ensure accuracy and functionality of the finished product. Package the tooling appropriately to both prevent damage in transit and facilitate ease of use.
In this role you would be predominately focused on building tooling in support of ground support equipment for both commercial and military requirements. Every build is different, and the work is focused at the individual build level. (This is not an assembly line type role). Pride in your work and attention to detail are essential as quality is the focus.
Essential Job Functions
- Verify all details are accounted for per drawing and planning prior to starting a job.
- Review drawing and plan notes for any special requirements and instructions, including fastener retention, adhesive type, proof load requirements, pressure testing, calibration, etc.
- Assemble tooling per drawing and planning, anticipating potential issues and identifying the optimal sequence for assembly.
- Part mark tooling per drawing using appropriate methods including stencil, vibro-etch, electrochemical etch, etc.
- Design and produce internal layouts for securing tooling in wooden boxes and crates to prevent damage while facilitating efficient repeat use by the customer.
- Work with Production and Quality Assurance to assure a defect-free product is produced, both functionally and visually.
- Ability to interpret drawings and read/comprehend work instructions.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Experience using hand tools and handheld power tools.
- Steel or composite toe shoes complying with current revision of ASTM F-2413.
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Two years of mechanical assembly experience (not on an assembly line).
- High School graduation or GED required.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Respect and commitment to the job and for coworkers.
- Problem solving abilities.
