Position Summary: The Business Intelligence Data Analyst II plays a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making processes within the organization. This advanced-level data analyst position requires strong proficiency in SQL, SSRS reporting, Power BI, Python, and VBA. The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to debug and troubleshoot, strong process documentation skills, and a deep understanding of data structures & algorithms.

Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from databases, APIs, and other data sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Utilize advanced SQL techniques, including window functions and indexing strategies, to efficiently manipulate and transform large datasets.
  • Design, develop, and maintain visually appealing SSRS reports for business stakeholders, ensuring optimal performance and providing actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide insights from data analysis, driving strategic decision-making processes.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities through advanced data analysis techniques, including statistical analysis and predictive modeling using tools like Python or Power BI.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions or challenges, generating actionable insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders clearly and concisely, tailoring communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to understand business needs, gather requirements, and ensure alignment between data analysis and business objectives.
  • Document end-to-end project requirements, workflows, and processes, ensuring consistent and comprehensive documentation for future reference.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
  • Strong data interpretation and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis techniques and their application in data analysis.
  • Experience in developing and deploying SSRS reports, with a focus on creating informative and visually appealing reports.
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and visualizations, enhancing data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Training/Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications, preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in SQL, SSRS reports, Power BI Python, VBA.
  • 3-5 years in business analytics or related field, demonstrating progressive experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.

Base Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000 annual
Bonus Incentive: Up to 5% of base salary
