Position Title: Commercial Lead Carpenter
Reports To: Project Manager and Construction Superintendent
Compensation: $65,000 to $75,000

As the Lead Carpenter at Mitchell Design Build, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the construction activities of our commercial projects. As the Lead Carpenter at Mitchell Design Build, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the construction activities of our commercial projects. You will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for excellence and client satisfaction throughout the construction process.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in all Divisions of Labor including demolition, site/earth work, framing, finish carpentry, masonry, and foundation work
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of construction workers and subcontractors on-site
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and building codes
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans to direct construction activities
- Coordinate deliveries of materials and equipment
- Conduct regular site inspections and enforce site cleanliness
- Resolve conflicts or issues that may arise during construction
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, production, and progress
- 5 years' supervision experience with a general contractor in the commercial industry
- Ability to meet high pressure deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to maintain a professional demeanor while working with Owners, Architects, Subcontractors and Employees
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to understand and follow company policies and procedures, safety program, submit prescribed reports, make decisions within assigned responsibilities
- Must be able to read and understand construction documents, including blueprints
- Strong organizational skills, with a can-do attitude
- Strong computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet is a plus
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations (OSHA certification preferred)
