Job Summary
We are seeking an Operator Qualification Program & Training Manager to join our dynamic team and help our business grow. This important role is responsible for ensuring that our Gas Division maintains a highly qualified workforce that can carry out the work we are engaged in delivering to our customers in a high quality, efficient and safe manner. This role is responsible for maintaining our Operator Qualification (OQ) Program, ensuring compliance with industry requirements, and constantly improving the safety of our employees, job sites and equipment.
Compensation: $75,000 to $100,000

We are seeking an Operator Qualification Program & Training Manager to join our dynamic team and help our business grow. This role is responsible for maintaining our Operator Qualification (OQ) Program, ensuring compliance with industry requirements, and constantly improving the safety of our employees, job sites and equipment.
Compensation: $75,000 to $100,000
Responsibilities
The specific duties of the Manager, Operator Qualification Program & Training will include, but not be limited to:
- Maintain and enhance our Operator Qualification (OQ) program in compliance with natural gas industry standards and regulations (e.g., 49 CFR Part 192).
- Ensure that all field personnel are qualified and trained to safely and effectively operate and maintain natural gas pipeline systems and associated facilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee qualifications; create a capabilities matrix to ensure qualified personnel are assigned to appropriate tasks
- Regularly reevaluate employees and ensure they can recognize abnormal operating conditions
- Provide training to employees to improve team member capabilities; deliver training and engage Subject Matter Experts as appropriate
- Work internally, with our customers and industry organizations to understand and fulfill compliance requirements
- Partner with Human Resources team to administer background checks and random drug testing
- Stay abreast of and implement required industry changes
- Perform safety reviews on job sites, ensure equipment is in good working order and properly calibrated, inspections are up to date, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented
- Partner with P&CG Safety team to solve operational challenges and continually make our work environments safer
- Procure and provide Safety equipment for employees in our Gas Division
Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in a regulated construction industry role; IDEALLY possessing Operating Qualifications for Gas.
- In-depth knowledge of gas pipeline operations, training, and operator qualifications specific to Avangrid and National Fuel Gas companies
- Deep grasp of health & safety regulations, tools and processes; demonstrated experience improving safety culture and compliance
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to create learning content, teach required course material, and improvise and adapt to changing needs based on customer requirements
- Excellent planning and organizing skills
- Compliance oriented AND practical
- Proficient with computer applications/software; experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- 10 Hour OSHA Training
