Position Overview:
As the Pipe Foreman, you’ll be in charge of managing the daily activities of your crew while installing piping systems on commercial sitework projects. You'll collaborate closely with Town Inspectors, excavator operators, ensuring the correct depth and grade for pipe installation, and keeping things running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will also be coordinating testing requirements for utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the installation of various types of piping systems (DIP, SDR, HDPE, etc.).
- Directing and managing the team to stay on project timelines.
- Adhering to OSHA regulations pertaining to trench excavation.
- Work hand-in-hand with excavator operators to ensure correct depth, grade, and alignment for the pipes.
- Set up and operate pipe lasers for accurate pipe placement.
- Lead your crew and communicate effectively to make sure everyone is on the same page.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, keeping the work environment safe and organized.
- Keep the project on schedule and report daily progress to your supervisor.
- Help train and guide less-experienced crew members while maintaining high standards.
- Make sure materials and equipment are available and ready for use when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Leadership experience in a similar role, ideally as a pipe foreman, crew leader, or in a hands-on supervisory position.
- A strong knowledge of piping systems and materials (DIP, SDR, HDPE).
- Experience using a pipe laser and understanding grading and alignment.
- Comfortable working below ground and in tight spaces.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specs.
- Ability to lead, teach, and motivate a crew, while also being willing to pitch in and get your hands dirty when needed.
- Reliable transportation (getting to and from work on time is important—no "car trouble" excuses here!)
- A strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humor—because a little laughter goes a long way on the job site.
