Position title: Electrician
Location: Rochester, NY
Schedule: Full time
Pay: $25-30/hour (if candidate has license with the City of Rochester, there is flexibility on pay rate)
General Description
As an Electrician you will be responsible for Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical controls, wiring and lighting systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Perform general electrical maintenance and read technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits.
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems such as: switch gears, motor controls, electrical
panels, CT cabinets, conveyor systems, lighting, and power supplies.
• Follow national electrical code, and state and local building regulations.
• Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or
repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Other tasks deemed necessary by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
• Certificate from two-year College or technical school or a minimum of five years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in three phase electrical wiring, equipment, etc. covered by the National Electrical
Code
• Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems
• Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications
• Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety
orientation
• High standard of integrity and professionalism
• Familiar with OSHA & Asbestos.
Desired Skills & Knowledge
• OSHA 10 Hour Class Certification
• City of Rochester Master Electrician License, or ability to obtain one within 12 months from date of hire
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
