Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience
Position Overview:
Ramar Steel, a leading structural steel fabricator and erector based in Rochester, NY, is seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and an understanding of project management principles. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key role in the successful execution of challenging projects, while working alongside experienced project managers and owners to ensure project goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Collaborate with Project Managers to implement project goals and assist with day-to-day project management activities.
- Project Meetings: Attend project meetings and document key discussions, action items, and next steps.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Assist in the scheduling and coordination of fabrication and steel erection, including tracking deliveries and progress.
- Documentation: Prepare and manage project documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and site visit reports.
- Customer Communication: Serve as a point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and timely updates on project status.
- Drawing Review: Review and interpret construction drawings to support project execution.
- Reporting: Track and report project progress, identifying any potential delays or issues.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and assist with on-site coordination.
- Problem Solving: Address project-related issues by proactively identifying solutions to keep the project on track.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or administrative assistance within the construction industry.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to work under pressure, demonstrate initiative, and tackle challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and ability to maintain project accuracy and integrity.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
