Nyrstar East Tennessee Mines- Experienced Miner - Utilities (East Tennessee Mines)

THE ROLE
This role is responsible for various aspects of underground installation, removal and repair of utilities (air, water and ventilation), pumping equipment and installation of ancillary fans in development and production area, along with various other miscellaneous tasks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Performs pre-shift checks of equipment
Conducts ongoing workplace inspections
Follows correct loading procedures
Follows correct dumping procedures
Follows all MSHA and Nyrstar safety procedures
Promote and demonstrate safe behavior at all times
Demonstrated competence in coaching, mentoring and providing feedback to team members
Good time management and prioritization skills
Works unsupervised or with limited supervision
Handles loads of varying sizes and weights

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Required minimum of 2-3 years’ experience of mining
Understands the utilities process and operations
Required experience in construction and/or using mining heavy equipment
Required knowledge of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
Preferred experience in mine specific equipment
