Key Responsibilities

Provide a calm, reassuring presence while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Monitor patient care areas, units, and facility grounds to ensure safety protocols are followed.

Support clinical staff during crisis situations using trauma-informed, least-restrictive approaches.

Assist with de-escalation and redirection techniques while maintaining dignity and respect for all individuals.

Respond promptly to safety concerns, behavioral escalations, or emergency situations following established hospital procedures.

Manage access control, conduct safety checks, and ensure secure entry to restricted clinical areas.

Document observations, safety notes, and incident reports clearly and professionally.

Communicate effectively with nursing staff, behavioral health teams, and administrative personnel.

Advocate for a safe, supportive, and patient-focused environment at all times.
Qualifications
-
Required: Previous experience in corrections, jail supervision, or secure behavioral settings.

Experience in crisis response, de-escalation, or working with vulnerable populations.

High school diploma or GED.

Strong interpersonal communication skills with a calm, empathetic approach.
-
Ability to remain centered and professional in emotionally challenging situations.

Physically able to respond to emergencies safely and appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in hospitals, behavioral health units, group homes, or clinical facilities.
-
CPR/First Aid Certification.

Understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
