The Role
The purpose of this role is to provide Electrical support by repairing and maintaining, installing, testing, and inspecting all electrical systems and equipment; all while complying with federal and state mine safety regulations and standards.

Key Accountabilities
Safety, Health, Environment and Community
  • Promote awareness and comply with site standards and procedures in SHEC, and reporting and managing all potential hazards.
  • Take responsibility for the safety of all personnel, including yourself and correct use of safety signs and barricades.
  • Wear proper PPE at all times and work to establish safe work procedures.
Role Description
Achieve processing targets by:
 
  • Install, inspect, repair and replacing all cameras, route fiber, leaky feeder, and communication cables
  • Assisting in monitoring for preventative and breakdown mechanic maintenance procedures.
  • Set up computers and workstations, repair and maintain FCC equipment, cable splicing and fusion splicing.
  • Continually reviewing the most appropriate electrical maintenance methods equipment and plans.
  • Assist with advancement of technology and automation as well as development and installation.
  • Keeping up to date with new developments in techniques and computing for maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Support Project Engineer and/or supervision with design and implementation of new technology and automation.
  • Maintain effective short and long-term maintenance of electrical equipment.

People and Organization
 
  • Actively participate in the Asset Management department team to support and promote agreed decisions of the department
  • Support effective discipline, communication and relationships within the team and between teams
  • Consistently apply Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and visions and values

Qualifications and Experience:
 
  • Appropriate trade or related qualification in maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment or related discipline.
  • Experience with information technology, fiber or equivalent.
  • Experience in industrial electricity, within a mining, construction, or industrial plan environment.
  • Operate support equipment – telehandlers and associated equipment, fiber splicing matching.
  • Utilize electrical and communication hand tools.
  • Utilize electrical test equipment associated with duties.
  • Program GE, Allen Bradley, ABB, and Siemens PLC’s
  • Program DC2000 Hoist Controller
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications
  • Calibrate Nuclear devices
  • Working knowledge of advancing technology, automation, and installation and maintenance of camera systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Mine Regulations.
  • Full understanding of Mining flow and automation.

Education:
 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MSHA training a plus.
