OIMO is seeking Applicants that are 1st and 2nd Class Electricians with 3-5 years minimum experience.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Above all project tasks, SAFETY – Electrical personnel shall present leadership, good example and follow all safety regulations of the project site. This includes Offshore Inland facilities, customer vessels, rigs, etc. Expresses customer professionalism.
Competent in marine & offshore platform electrical installation, repair, and maintenance.
Familiar with electrical safety lock out tag out procedures by following vessel or rig regulations for operational shut down.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems within marine/industrial electrical systems utilizing manuals, diagrams, and physical evaluation of wires, cable ways, circuitry components, fuses and paneling.
Experienced with good quality level of electrical wire termination and installation skills. Proper marking of cables, alignment of cable trays, slack and isolation from wear of insulation jackets or damage to cause arcing or shortage.
Experienced with good level of commissioning skill for operational load bank testing, beaker testing, and backup electrical generation equipment.
Ability to work from detailed Electrical and Mechanical drawings / instructions.
Works with a sense of urgency, efficiency and productive output.
Assist in the provision of on the job training in conjunction with Supervisors and lower skilled electrical personnel.
Maintains safe work practices and adheres to safety policies and procedures.
Enhance and encourage skill development of all staff.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and be responsible for assuring the quality of the employee’s own work.
Must keep proven work ethic and time keeping in relation to project records.
Ability to provide constructive feedback to appropriate Supervisor/Foreman/Manager.
Ability to plan and set time frames on jobs with accuracy.
Actively plan and implement production improvements.
Ensure correct construction procedures are adhered to in compliance with Offshore Inland company policies.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work overtime as required. Assist in the control of waste elimination, e.g. materials, consumables etc.
Assist supervisor to maintain control of department equipment and its maintenance.
Must be prepared and demonstrate the ability to supervise and manage other employees when needed.
Must have full set of personal tools to perform electrical duties.
Work towards the team goal of delivering the vessel on time.
Ability to be punctual at all times to all work-related jobs, trainings, meetings, etc., ability to start shift on time.
Ability to follow all OIMO work related policies and procedures.
Do not leave job early or return late from break times.
Ensure work area is left clean, all equipment and tools are stowed away safely and protected against damage.

Specific physical requirements include but are not limited to the following:
Must have the ability to bend, squat, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
Perform prolonged standing.
Ability to turn head from side to side and about the vertical axis.
Lift/push/pull 50lbs on an occasional basis.
Lift/push/pull up to 20lbs on a frequent basis.
Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs, scaffolding, ladders, and ramps).
Ability to work at heights above 12’ while working from ladders, scaffolding and/or man lifts.
Able to work at a variety of levels (ex. waist, eye, overhead).
Demonstrate the ability to safely and appropriately use required tools and equipment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
3-5 years’ experience in a similar role at comparative employer.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and measure using standard and metric system.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems that may arise in certain situations.
