Paint Helper - 2nd Shift (Fort Wayne, IN)

Uses spray wash to prepare surface of parts for paint. Performs masking, plugging, grinding of metal parts. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Reviews dispatch list to determine jobs due in area and gathers supplies such as pallets, plugs, packing materials necessary for efficient processing.

Prepares painting prep equipment by moving switches and dials to start flow current and to activate wash and paint spraying equipment. Selects color and type and changes barrels.

Prepares parts by washing, blowing off parts and removing rust and weld berries. Masks and plugs areas that are not permitted to be painted. Sprays parts by hand using side - to side or up and down motions.

Maintains & troubleshoots equipment by disassembling and assembling equipment, cleaning components and replacing defective parts and checking final operation.

Prepares parts for final inspection. May use overhead crane and forklift to move parts as required.

Cleans paint from ceiling and walls of booth, conveyer hooks and from spray heads and hoses.

Operates forklift to move parts between wash bay, booth, oven and staging area.
