The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing front-line primary technical support to end users on a variety of technical issues and problems relating to hardware (such as desktops, laptops, and printers), software (including operating systems and common business applications), and peripherals.

This position is based in our Fort St John office location. Travel to job sites may be required on an ad hoc basis. Overtime may be required based on the project workload.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually. We will consider factors including previous experience, education, skills, and internal equity when determining placement within this range. In addition, we provide a discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental, life and disability insurance, RRSP matching, and paid time off.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exceptional customer service in person, via phone and emails as appropriate.
- Provide troubleshooting and optimization for technical problems related to product applications, installation, and configuration.
- Develop and implement technical solutions under general supervision.
- Install and configure computers and peripherals on data networks.
- Support and collaborate on initiatives to drive technology solutions through all levels of the organization to improve process efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business process requirements.
- Assist in the development of training content for business IT systems and processes.
- Support and train users on technology tools and support new program implementations.
- Provide ongoing support to line of business teams as they integrate change management activities into their respective teams.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- A Diploma, Degree or Certificate in Information Technology or a related field is considered an asset
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified (e.g., M365 Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals), ITIL or Cobit foundation is considered an asset.
- 2 years of hands-on experience working in an end-user desktop support role or computer operations environment.
- Experience with IT operating platforms, hardware interfaces and applications.
- Experience administering systems support for remote sites considered an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Office 365 and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Strong Microsoft Office abilities (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols (routers, switches, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, wireless technologies).
- Advanced printer/peripheral device troubleshooting.
- Remote support for handheld smartphones and tablets.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
- Solid oral communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Strong written and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain productive during slower times, ability to multi-task effectively and maintain professionalism.
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language and strong customer service orientation.
