Essential Tasks:
- Answer incoming calls professionally by assisting with questions without giving legal advice.
- Provide accurate and professional service to the general public and other government and non-government agencies by providing excellent customer service.
- Assist with building new cases filed over the counter.
- Assist with e-filing, indexing, and scanning.
- Perform cashiering and other clerical duties as needed.
- Assist with the mail/courier run and all copy requests.
- May be trained in other areas of Probate, as needed.
- Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Skills / Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization. Bilingual skills are encouraged.
- Ability to communicate well with customers, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to research resource materials and follow instructions from resources such as Florida Statutes and SOPs
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and workload.
- Ability to accurately type 35 WPM.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and stay focused on the work assignments.
- Ability to remain calm in an anxious, intense environment.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Proficient use of Word and the ability to learn industry-based software such as New Vision.
- Ability to cover work of other employees to ensure that deadlines are met.

- Ability to make quick, objective decisions while staying within the guidelines of the Clerk’s Office, Statutes, rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of Florida statutes, County and Clerk's policies and procedures.
