Job Description

Trusted Space is seeking two (2) Aerospace Engineering Interns to join our stellar team in a remote capacity.   

As an Aerospace Engineering Intern, you will:  

  • Apply autonomy algorithms to satellite operations 
  • Work with real and simulated data 
  • Perform modeling and simulation of aerospace orbits and satellite systems 
  • Research, investigate and fix a wide range of technical issues 
  • Collaborate with senior leaders who will assist you with applying your expertise and developing skills 
  • Approach problems and create solutions 
  • Proactively learn about new technologies 

At the conclusion of the internship, the Aerospace Engineering intern(s) will deliver a presentation related to their work in modeling and simulation of aerospace systems and its support for autonomy research.

Qualifications
  • Pursuing Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or other related technical field 
  • Programming Experience at least one of the following: MATLAB, Python 
  • Ability to work in teams 
  • Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as dynamical systems, mechanics, etc.  
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a remote atmosphere 
  • Applicant for this intern position must be a US citizen 
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge and interest in orbital mechanics, including completion of a basic orbital mechanics course
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn aerospace tools such as GMAT, Orekit, or STK 
  • Knowledge and interest in machine learning 
  • Interest in working on projects related to aerospace and autonomy  
  • Familiar with Agile Methodology 
  • Familiar with git version control 
  • Strong interpersonal skills

    • Satellite Autonomy

    • Develop communication and presentation skills 
    • Work closely with a supervisor, mentor and other team members 
Hourly Range: The hourly range for this role is $20.00-$30.00 per hour. Please note that this range is a general guideline and can vary.
