Job Description
Trusted Space is seeking a Business Development Intern to join our stellar team in a remote capacity. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Developing general marketing and sales material using inputs from managerial staff and engineering leads 
  • Executing market research and competitive analysis to provide market insights on markets, customers, competitors, government budgets, and opportunities  
  • Assisting with developing and coordinating social media campaigns 
  • Assisting with financial analysis of proposed opportunities, develop project timelines and evaluate the potential return on investment (ROI)  
  • Interacting with cross-functional teams throughout an opportunity lifecycle (qualifying leads, pursuing opportunities, developing proposals) 
  • Participate in business development process improvement activities 
  • Supporting conference planning and the preparation process 
  • Assisting with coordinating customer engagements 
  • Monitoring emerging technologies to help determine key areas for business growth 
  • Assisting with conceptualizing strategic initiatives to develop innovative business opportunities 

At the conclusion of the internship, the Business Development intern will utilize the valuable knowledge gained to organize and deliver a presentation of project(s) to the management team.    

Qualifications

The chosen candidate must:  

  • Be pursuing Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Political Science or similar  
  • Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to work all levels of the organization, desire to present to senior leader 
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail 
  • Possess a good sense of prioritization and time management 
  • Have the desire and ability to work independently and on a team 
  • Possess the integrity to maintain confidentiality at all times regarding confidential and business information 
  • Have a special interest or affinity for spreadsheets and analytical tasks 
  • Applicant for this intern position must be a US citizen 
Desired Skills
  • Experience working with social media as applied to a business or organization 
  • Interest in working on projects related to AI/ML, aerospace, and autonomy  
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)  
  • Familiarity with data analysis techniques  

What can you expect to gain from an internship at Trusted Space: 

  • Interns will work closely with the Trusted Space team, gaining experience and confidence to become more independent as their knowledge of Business Development and processes grows.  Interns will be encouraged to tackle problems that are interesting to them.  
  • Gain valuable knowledge about the space industry – customers, competitors, partnerships, key programs, etc. 
  • Acquire valuable insights about the government budgeting cycle and how it applies to the space industry  
  • Work closely with a supervisor, mentor and other team members 
  • Learn how to perform competitive assessments and how they fit into developing strategies to win new business 
  • Gain experience with opportunity pursuit and proposal pipeline management 
  • Gain experience with proposal development process 
  • Gain experience with customer engagement process 
  • Develop communication and presentation skills  
Hourly Range: The hourly range for this role is $20.00-$30.00.
