Job Description

Trusted Space is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on a specialized internal project focused on exploring advanced techniques for building highly performant, scalable, and parallelizable computations across modern hardware architectures.

Key Areas of Exploration and Learning:

  • GPU Compute Programming: Hands-on experience with CUDA and Vulkan, including memory management, kernel optimization, and leveraging GPU pipelines for high-throughput workloads.
  • FPGA Development: Understanding hardware acceleration concepts and programming for custom logic implementations.
  • Parallel and Concurrent Execution: Deep dive into multithreading, synchronization primitives, and strategies for maximizing performance across heterogeneous systems.
  • Performance Optimization: Techniques for minimizing latency, improving throughput, and profiling compute-intensive applications.
  • Foundational Aerospace Algorithms: Exposure to computational challenges and algorithms relevant to aerospace engineering.
At the conclusion of the internship, you will present a dynamic, technical showcase of your work, highlighting your findings, implementation strategies, and performance results. 

Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Programming experience with one or more of these languages 
    • Rust 
    • C++
    • Go
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Applicants for this intern position must be a US Citizen. 

Desired Skills
  • GPU or FPGA Programming Experience: Familiarity with CUDA, Vulkan, OpenCL, or hardware acceleration concepts.
  • Experience with multithreading, concurrency models, and synchronization primitives.
  • Experience integrating and working with third-party libraries for scientific or high-performance computing.
  • Knowledge of memory management and efficient data transfer between CPU and GPU.

Hourly Range: The hourly range for this role is $20.00-$30.00 per hour. Please note that this range is a general guideline and can vary.
