JOB SUMMARY
The Controls Technician configures, monitors & troubleshoots the control systems of TEAL automated equipment. The Technician collaborations with clients, as well as TEAL Engineering and Product Development teams to ensure the efficient and effective control of the TEAL Systems, enabling optimal performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install and configure hardware and software components (analog sensors, digital sensors, electronic control boards, networking equipment)
  • Repair or replace damaged hardware
  • Upgrade systems firmware with provided tools
  • Work with technicians remotely
  • Travel to client sites
  • Perform tests on new hardware and software
  • Basic network troubleshooting (Router issues, modem malfunctions etc.)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures
  • Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made
  • Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree in computer science/Computer Information Systems or engineering or related field, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience: IT Technician, Controls Technician, Building Automation Technician
  • A+ Certification a plus!
  • Understanding of low voltage (DC / AC) systems.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge (sensors, various meters, power, wiring etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting PCs, phones, routers, modems etc.
  • Proficient with Windows, Android, and IOS
  • Willing to travel to client sites
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborative effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
