About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Carrier Sales Rep – Flatbed to grow our flatbed carrier operations. This individual will be responsible for developing carrier relationships, optimizing national flatbed capacity, and focusing on delivering consistent results. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of experience in Flatbed with deep industry knowledge and the ability to operate in a fast-paced freight environment.
Requirements
- Mode Expertise: Manage all major flatbed equipment types (e.g., standard flatbed, step deck, double drop, RGN, heavy haul, etc.), and educate internal teams on mode-specific capabilities and limitations.
- Carrier Development & Management: Leverage an established network of flatbed carriers to secure reliable, scalable capacity. Foster long-term carrier relationships built on trust, transparency, and mutual success.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of market shifts and rate trends. Monitor capacity dynamics and freight demand to make proactive recommendations and adjustments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with customer sales, pricing, operations, and compliance teams to ensure execution aligns with carrier strategy and customer expectations.
- Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Possess a working knowledge of DOT regulations, securement standards, permitting, weight laws, and safety practices specific to the flatbed sector. Ensure compliance across all flatbed moves.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in flatbed carrier sales or flatbed logistics operations
- Deep knowledge of flatbed modes, market behavior, and industry-specific regulations
- Strong carrier network and established industry relationships
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-driven mindset
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making abilities
- Experience working in a fast-paced brokerage or 3PL environment preferred
