Wilbur Hot Springs is seeking an experienced General Manager or GM Couple to lead the Wilbur Team and be responsible for daily operations at the renowned Health Sanctuary and Geothermal Springs.

To lead operations at Wilbur, the ideal GM/couple is experienced and comfortable living off-grid, familiar with hot springs culture, resourceful, resilient, flexible and grounded. This is a hands-on position which includes responsibility for bottom line results, property upkeep and improvement, team leadership, guest experience, land stewardship, and many other details of this small and incredibly unique property. In addition, the GM/couple is responsible for providing input to and executing on Wilbur’s operating plan, preparing for and coordinating special events and initiatives, managing to budget, booking strategies, revenue management, policies and procedures, site upgrades and operational efficiencies. The General Manager(s) must be effective communicator(s) across all Wilbur stakeholders – managing directors, stewards, work teams, guests, healing artists and state and local authorities as needed.

Requirements:

3-5 years experience managing lodging operations, including reservations, guest experience, housekeeping, staffing/scheduling, inventories, purchasing and night manager coverage
3-5 years experience managing facilities maintenance, including HVAC, solar power, water, pools, vehicles (electric and gasoline), mechanical, plumbing, electrical and groundskeeping
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent guest relations skills and the ability to quickly and effectively resolve guest challenges
Self-sufficiency, resilience, resourcefulness, patience and the ability to exercise sound judgement in daily decision making
Ability to lead collaborative teams (16-20 employees total) fostering trust and empowerment
Experience as a Resident Manager highly preferred
Computer and tech competency, including property management and reservations systems, spreadsheets, google docs, calendars, etc.
Understanding of California Human Resources requirements
Experience operating in a remote, off-grid location
Strong affinity for land stewardship
Experience with solar power a plus

Wilbur Hot Springs, located off Hwy 20 midway between Williams and Clearlake, is a traditional hot springs resort featuring an ancient geothermal spring, geyser, soaking and swimming pools and a 1560 acre nature preserve.
