ROLE
WHC LLC (A Surerus Murphy Company) (WHC Energy Services), is seeking to recruit a Human Resources Advisor – Projects. The Human Resources Advisor – Projects, is responsible for aligning HR strategies for field operations and ensuring that project HR practices support the company’s overall HR objectives. This role provides guidance in employee relations, talent management, HR policy implementation, and serves as a liaison between Project HR and the Core HR department.

As a trusted HR Advisor, the incumbent will enhance operational effectiveness in a dynamic fast-paced environment. You’ll offer strategic insights, collaborate closely with field teams, and help shape HR initiatives that drive business performance and employee engagement.

The ideal candidate will partner with business operations, build relationships, and offer tailored HR solutions that support the success of field operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build strong relationships with operational leaders and field-based teams.
  • Act as the primary HR contact for field-based employees.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance that aligns with business objectives and supports field operations.
  • Collaborate with leaders to understand business needs and recommend HR solutions to address challenges in field locations.
  • Ensure HR practices in field locations align with corporate HR strategies and objectives.
  • Support the execution of HR processes across the employee lifecycle to enhance the employee experience.
  • Advise on the application of HR policies and procedures across field locations and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  •  Provide consultative support on complex employee relations issues, offering thoughtful and strategic resolutions.
  • Promote adherence to company policies, employment laws, and health and safety regulations.
  • Guide the mobilization and demobilization of projects, ensuring effective onboarding and offboarding experiences.
  • Support training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Assist field leaders with performance issues and implement performance improvement plans.
  • Contribute to change management initiatives related to HR programs and organizational changes affecting field operations.
  • Recommend innovative HR approaches, policies, and procedures that enhance productivity and business outcomes. Provide responsive support balancing HR priorities with operational needs.

Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) is an asset.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience in industrial environments, including both generalist and specialist roles with increasing responsibilities.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Expertise in Employee Relations and Investigations.
  • Knowledge of employment law, including Prevailing Wage, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other relevant legislation impacting field-based employees.
  • Skilled in documenting processes and staying current with industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Adaptable to changing workplace demands.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Client-oriented with the ability to build and maintain relationships with the diverse clients.
  • Works independently, with strong initiative and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient at building collaborative relationships and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including formal presentations.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based at our Woodlands, TX office. Ability to travel up to 50% to other office and field-based locations across the US.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Human Resources Advisor – Projects, reports directly to the Director, Human Resources.
