Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stand behind McCarl’s Mission: Create higher impact customer solutions and lower lifetime cost of customers’ critical capital assets, infrastructure, and operations.

- Understand project scope and how design changes or evolution impacts overall project.
- Ensure reported percentage complete aligns to physical percent complete in our digital tracking system.
- Support billing evaluation against physical percent complete.
- Support budget and schedule analysis through evaluation of change orders, POs, Subs, and project progress.
- Quantify budget and schedule impacts of revisions or additional scope.
- Estimate fabrication projects.
- Support finalizing takeoffs as needed.
- Assist with material receiving and validate against the shipping documents and project specifications.
- Project management support:
- Recognize, evaluate, and offer solutions to mitigate project risks.
- Coordinate trucking and related paperwork between shop, subcontractors, and site as needed.
- Work directly with the fabrication project manager on tracking production.
- Become efficient in Viewpoint to assist fabrication project manager.
- Prepare RFI’s.
- Complete tasks requested by supervision and management.
- Purchasing and Design support:
- Work directly with Drafting and Purchasing to ensure we have all the material needed prior to release to the shop.
- Validate drawings and cut sheets as released.
- Compose purchase orders and subcontracts as needed.
- Assist with organizing materials.
- Data entry to maintain accuracy of our material tracking system.
- Document Control (hard copy and electronic) for purchasing and material documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, construction management, or related field.
- 1-4 years of experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to recognize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read, analyze, and understand drawings, project specifications.
- Use problem solving skills to resolve issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Promote good customer relationships (both internal and external).
- Produce neat and accurate written or graphic work products.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with all levels in the company.
- Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry: calculate amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and weight.
- Willingness to work extended hours when needed.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid Drivers License and clean driving record.
