Overview:
As the Electrical Mechanical Technician you will be responsible for assembling electrical equipment, troubleshooting and diagnosing Jule Systems, providing technical support at various sites, as well as testing electrical systems in house. This includes reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and part lists, assembling components and subassemblies using hand tools and hoists, and conducting quality control checks to verify specifications. You will also be responsible for maintaining production equipment, tracking inventory, documenting quality forms, and strictly complying with safety protocols. This role does require 30% travel within USA and to CAN for servicing, installation, maintenance, testing, and training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies
- Read and decipher schematics, blueprints, drawings, and assembly instructions
- Position or align components and parts, either manually or with hoists
- Use hand tools, power tools, or machines to assemble parts
- Insulate containers and cabinets
- Conduct quality control checks
- Comply with and assist with the development of safety protocols
- Clean and maintain work areas and equipment including tools
- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying part lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
- Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies
- Verify specifications by measuring completed components
- Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources
- Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintain inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing, and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENT & SKILLS
- 3 years of experience as an electrical/mechanical assembler
- Exceptional understanding and ability to interpret technical documents such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints or other instructions
- Solid understanding of all operating procedures
- Able to use multimeter
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
- Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary
- Required to Travel to the U.S and Canada for 30% of the time upon commencing employment.
