Communications Manager (contract)
We are seeking a proven professional to serve as a contract Communications Manager to help tell the (add)ventures story to the company’s key stakeholders, both internal and external.

Location: Hybrid out of the East Providence, RI office

Responsibilities
  • Find innovative ways to develop written strategic business communications, both internally and externally.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications programs to deliver consistent messaging about our work and our team in multiple ways, including short- and long-form stories, website copy, social media, internal communications and external tools like email campaigns.
  • Be a strategist and a talented writer and storyteller who can adapt to any communication style.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic communications plans for various internal and external audiences
  • Serve as strategic advisor to senior leaders with the ability to flex to different leadership styles to achieve desired outcomes
  • Collaborate cross functionally to craft and manage executive communications
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing communications plans and strategies
  • Help manage and curate communications analytics and metrics for senior leaders
  • Conduct interviews with fellow (add)venturists and external partners to support story development.
  • Support the team in the planning and implementation of in-house events for (add)venturists, including (add)love, our philanthropic arm, that are part of wider integrated plan to engage key audiences.

Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in internal communications, marketing communications or corporate communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or similar discipline preferred
  • Experience in communicating within a multi-functional business and demonstrated experience with various types of communications channels preferred
  • Natural storyteller with excellent speaking, writing and editing skills
  • Strong people and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects with a sense of urgency and focus
  • Tremendous writing skills–including the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Experience collaborating with senior executives and helping manage an intricate web of conflicting opinions and objectives
  • Creative and critical thinking needed to develop communication strategies that drive change and fulfill business objectives
  • Ability to work proactively and independently while collaborating with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Organizational skills to include managing multiple activities; ability to prioritize projects of varying complexities; ability to meet required timelines
