Role Summary
Join our team as the Lead Host at SkyFire for Bishop's Lodge, serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by setting the tone for the environment in which the guests are entering and are responsible for conveying our appreciation for the guest’s patronage upon departure.
$20/ Hour
Core Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done! Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
- Be able to provide a warm, genuine, and comfortable experience for all guests in our restaurants and hotel.
- Create positive relationships with guests and residents.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Prepare station chart and assign stations to staff following departmental procedures.
- Set up host/hostess station with necessary supplies; maintain cleanliness at all times including foyer and coat closet. Report any shortages to management.
- Inspect condition and cleanliness of menus and wine lists; ensure designated amounts are available.
- Inspect the restaurant environment and entrance area ensuring that all standards are met, rectify any deficiencies, and maintain cleanliness at all times.
- Accurately take, record, and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellations according to hotel standards.
- Escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extend congeniality in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system and manual system procedures.
Skills and Abilities
- Great communication skills
- Confidence and ability to perform under pressure
- A minimum of one-year experience in the foodservice/hospitality industry
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs
- Hospitality Certificate or Degree
- Good knowledge of food and wine
