The Accounting Analyst will play a crucial role in our finance department by supporting various accounting activities, including financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting. As a member of the Administration division the Accounting Analyst will be charged with promoting the Buchanan values of Determination, Integrity, Safety, and Community in everything they do.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
  • Month end expense recording & accruals
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations
  • Account reconciliations
  • Maintaining general ledger
  • Audit preparations
  • Fixed Assets-Setting up, updating and maintaining
  • Recording & tracking reserves
  • Ensure the travel & entertainment policy is followed
  • Ensure all monthly costs are accounted for and allocated appropriately
  • Customer volume incentives/rebates
  • Claims and Excess Cargo
  • Work closely with Settlements
  • Preparing & recording bad debt
  • Track equipment rentals

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • McLeod experience preferred
