The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling surgery procedures, operating rooms, recovery care beds, preoperative appointments, sedation in radiology and other areas as needed. Must be able to deal with a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision while maintaining a pleasant decorum and accuracy.
Hours primarily 9:30-6:00p Monday through Friday. Hours to remain flexible to meet dept needs.
Previous scheduling experience highly preferred

- Education/Experience: High school graduate or possession of a GED Certificate.
- Special Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication and accuracy skills required.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in computer-based word processing, excellent typing and spelling.
- Familiar with CPSI strongly preferred
- Ability to operate office equipment, including fax, copier, etc.
- Strong organizational, attention to detail and accuracy skills required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
- Knowledge/experience in surgery scheduling strongly preferred.
- Ability to be able to multitask, maintain a pleasant decorum and accuracy.
- Ability to perform with appropriate decorum in a small office & focus on the work of scheduling & delivery of exceptional customer experience
- Ability to think outside the box and get to a “yes solution” for our guests and/or customers.
- Physical Abilities: High stress frequently. Sits most of the day. Occasional bending and reaching involved. Pleasant telephone voice and personable countenance.
- Mental Abilities: Must be able to deal with a busy hectic environment with frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy. Must be able to comprehend policies, patient records, physician’s orders, procedures and guidelines.
- Dexterity: Frequent repetitive motions of hands/wrists involved.
- Working Conditions: Will be working in a clean, well-lit, area.
- Hazards and Risks: Indirect patient contact with possible exposure to communicable disease. Exposure to computer screen.
