Dunes Server


Dune's servers are responsible for orchestrating the dining experience, weaving enduring and memorable stories, and are the primary connection to the guest, Servers enthusiastically solicit food and beverage orders and record orders in the POS system in a timely manner. You guide the correct delivery of food and beverage orders to guests via accurate station and seat numbering. Servers also demonstrate a strong, confident and empathetic presence vis-à-vis guests and team members and anticipate guests needs and delegates by delegating and prioritizing tasks. You assist in the maintenance and cleaning of restaurant and bar areas as well as  control of beverage and operating supply costs. Dune's servers own guest experiences and satisfaction from greeting to farewell. 

  1. Keep accurate and up-to-date account of orders and checks
  2. Ability to effectively communicate in English with co-workers and management to their understanding
  3. Greeting and acknowledging all guests within 2 minutes of being seated
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of wine, beer, liquor, non-alcoholic and cocktail recipes and ingredients
  5. Passionate desire to connect with guests and live the Dune brand
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of Dune's menus, ingredients and culinary philosophies. Able to suggest food and beverage pairings. Able to expertly recommend dishes and drinks based on allergy and dietary restrictions.
  7. Professionally handle and pour wine service according to standard
  8. Frequently and tactfully check with guests after “first two bites” of each course to assure satisfaction
  9. Punctuality.  Demonstrates  regular and reliable attendance
  10. Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance to state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving. Request proof of age from guests when legal age is questioned (anyone appearing under the age of 30 should be asked for identification)
  11. Keep work area clean and organized maintaining health safety procedures for guests
  12. Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code
  13. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, and use equipment only as intended
  14. Effectively manage internal and external customers, some of whom may require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
  15. Bid farewell to all guests with an invitation to return
  16. Perform all opening, closing and side duties as assigned
  17. Secure service areas according to procedure and return keys to their assigned location

  1. Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  2. Two (2) years’ experience as a bartender
  3. TIPS training / Food Handler training or equivalent.

  1. Basic computer skills, general knowledge of POS systems
  2. Ability to manage and be accountable for cash and cash transactions

  1. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision
  2. Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration, and think clearly while providing service to many guests at any given time
  3. Ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculation
  4. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  5. Work well under pressure and able to handle multiple tasks at once
  6. Work well with co-workers and the public. A direct team relationship with runners, bussers and bartenders is essential

  1. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes experiencing extreme fluctuations in temperature
  2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, bending and stooping.
  3. Ability to stand and/or walk continuously throughout the shift to perform essential job functions
  4. Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to grasp, load, and carry tools
  5. Ability to endure repetitive motions for extended periods of time
  6. Ability to maintain good coordination while serving orders quickly
  7. Ability to grasp, bend, and stoop; push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 50 lbs; and, lift and/or carry or otherwise move received packages, bottles and boxes
