TEMPORARILY A REMOTE WORKPLACE DUE TO COVID-19

Position Overview 
Clarus Commerce is a leading marketing and technology company specializing in the design, development and implementation of subscription-based paid consumer loyalty programs as recognized by Forrester, Gartner and Loyalty360.  
 
We are seeking a VP of Business Development who is a strategic and results-oriented hunter, focused on the retail sector. The candidate will be an integral member of our Business Development team, target many of our largest, most strategic prospective clients.  
 
The Vice President of Business Development must have great interpersonal skills, tenacity, a strategic outlook on our solutions and existing relationships within the retail industry. 

Once the Company returns to the office (October) the VP of Business Development will be able to routinely work from home for part of the week. 
 
Responsibilities of VP of Business Development: 
  • Prospect into companies to uncover business development opportunities 
  • Utilize existing relationships to secure meetings and opportunities with key stakeholders 
  • Work with selected resellers and other intermediaries to broaden our sales reach  
  • Collaborate with internal teams:  product, client services, creative, technology and legal to develop the best possible solutions  
  • Present appropriate solutions to create advance opportunities and close sales 
  • Negotiate deals, obtain internal deal sign-off, and work with legal and product team, to configure agreements and statements of work  
  • Win the business and transition relationship post-sale to client services, product and technology team  
  • Travel up to 25% of the time  
 
Desired Skills and Experience of VP of Business Development: 
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and winning large, strategic deals 
  • Demonstrated success selling to senior and C-level executives  
  • Highly resourceful, goal-oriented, self-starter 
  • Proficient interpersonal skills  
  • Ability to articulate a strategic solution and deliver winning presentations  
  • Ability to quickly respond to opportunities and to manage multiple priorities  
  • Experience in selling loyalty solutions to retailers is a plus but not mandatory
